It's Sharing Time!

Assalammualaikum and good day, dear readers.

So, it is post-SPM. No more schools. No more hostels. No more assignments. No more boring meals.
Wow, awesome. Right? Or, boring? Well, it's depend on how you spend your so-called holidays. Haha. It is indeed holidays but do not forget you still have a long journey ahead! It's planning time!

So, maybe most of you guys are still in the holiday mood but stop! I mean, pause! Sit for awhile, and think what course are going to take in the future. But first, figure out what your passions are. Meh, You should have figured out by now, because it will help you in determining your future. But if you have not, while spending time on Twitter, Facebook, and stuffs, you could hit the Google Search button and search for 'Personality Tests' or 'Career Tests' to find out what your passions really are.
However, my main point of writing this post is I want to share with you guys what some of Kolej PERMATApintar Negara (QuadP) ex-students are doing right now and maybe they could help you in making decision for your next steps later. If you have further questions feel free to contact them through those mediums stated below. Enjoy!

I'm majoring in Physics at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, US. Class of 2017. In Sophomore year, which is 2nd year. Sponsored by KPM under MyBrainSc program. MyBrainSc only allow the students to pursue in pure sciences.
Some people might say that Physics is the most tough major which it is. I don't mean to scare anybody but that's reality. But, once you manage to handle and catch up everything, it is quite easy, for me. Different people have their own opinion. Some of my friends here said that you will get the true major. It means that we will going to what a major suppose to be. Physics is fun. You learn everything happen around you. Everything you will study is just a point particle. No matter how big the thing is. You will be impress on almost everything around you when you learn Physics. I want to further my study in Civil Engineering, but I can do so in Master. Hopefully. Physics is the basic of other science subjects. Either you take economics, dentistry, biology, you will learn Physics.

Goodluck in the future and don't scare to try something new. Not the bad things okay.

I've just completed my first semester of second year in a degree in Biomedical Science with Honours in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur branch. I'm in the Faculty of Health Sciences. I've also taken TOEFL, SAT I, SAT Math, and SAT Biology. I've applied to 4 American colleges before, had a friend who worked part time at Escape Room while taking her full time degree. I'd love to share so don't hesitate to ask!

I'm doing A-levels right now in Kolej MARA Seremban. But we also have IB programme here so I might be able to answer a few basic questions about it also.

Regarding A-Level at KMS, you're gonna be doing 3 core subjects for 2 years and another half subject for a year. At the end of the first year, you'll sit for AS which is the first part of getting your AL certificate and you'll do the rest, A2, at the end of your study here. Basically, you're able to do well in AS, you can concentrate better on A2. But if you don't, then you'll have to repeat it with A2. I mind you, it's a lot. Especially if you're thinking about furthering in Engineering. You fail AS, you're gonna have to sit for 7 papers per subject in A2. So there's a reason why they divide 2 years worth of syllabus for us. If you're still confused, just think is like this, AS + A2 = A Level. And you could always contact me if you need more information about it.

For KMS, we have a really tight knit community here. The teachers are very helpful but the students seldom seek them for help. So if you're thinking of coming here, make sure that you'll get the full use of the teachers' assistance. The style of teaching is also very different from what we were used to at QuadP. The teachers paid attention to every details in class and they also explain it one by one. So if you pay attention in class, you won't have much problem to understand the topics.

Next, about the facilities, we don't have buffet here but what we do have is the dining hall and the mak cik's cooking is quite nice and it's free!. Though I have to mind you that it's spicy. At weeknight, if you're still hungry, we have 'masakan panas' and burger which of course you'll have to pay for. And if you want fast food, KFC, McD, Dominos and Pizza Hut all have delivery service right to our hostel's gate. If that is not enough, we also have 'Koop' which sells pretty much everything that you need on a daily basis. You can find junk food, instant noodles, bread 'Gardenia', canned beverages and so much more. It sometimes opens till midnight, depending on the person in charge.

Moving on, we also have a laundry service where you'll pay for the fee at the beginning of each semester. All you have to do is drop your laundry basket and your bottle of detergent in front of the 'Dobi' in the morning, and it'll be done by the time you finish your class in the afternoon. Of course you're gonna have to hang it dry afterwards or you could always opt to pay for an extra ringgit to have your clothes dried for you. Laundry day is twice a week per students.

Now, I'm gonna tell about the rooms. There will be three single beds in each room with their own cupboard/locker, study table and chair. Everything is comfy but I have to say the locker is way smaller than the one in QuadP hostel so you might not want to bring too much clothes here. As for the bathroom, it's communal just like in QuadP. And oh yes! We have a lights off curfew here where the main lights will be automatically be turned off at exactly 1.45 am and will only be available again at around 5.30 am daily. But don't worry, the fan will still be working and if you need more time to study, you can turn on your study lamp -which you'll have to bring your own.

And finally, the Islamic programme here is also tremendous. Apart from the subject that you'll have to learn for either AL or IB, we also have Agama Islam for the muslims. Which is a must pass subject if you wanna fly oversea. We also have a lot of activities at the surau where we invite guest speakers every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night, Usrah on Tuesday night and many more that are organized by the committee members.

I think I have blabbered a lot here.
And I'd be surprised if anybody have read up until here. So that's about what you need to know about life in KMS and as an AL student. If you wanna know more, just email me or contact me through social media. Do introduce yourself or otherwise I'd be thinking that it's some kind of spam. That'a all folks! Bye! And thanks for reading this lengthy post.

Assalamualaikum... ni cakap bm boleh x? Huhu... ok la, in English. Kang japgi malu plak kan. Hehe...
By the way, my name is Zahiruddin Zahwan Bin Yahaya. Nothing special about me. My stream of study? Pfft.... maybe one in a thousand will like it. Do want to know? Aah, just ignore it. Hahaha... since lower form at my previous school, I prefer to study about some sort of religious matter especially the Islam. See. Ha ha ha. Laugh it. Plus, at PERMATA also, not many students chose like mine. It s okay. Everyone has their own path. Just, go with our own and try the best. Go for it.

Oh, right now, I m studying at Centre for Foundation Studies International Islamic University of Malaysia. Taking course of Arabic language. Final semester, insya Allah.I admit it, it is very interesting here. A lot of courses, societies and of course a lot of friends. A lot of friends means a lot of backgrouds and personalities. And a lot of them means a lot of opinions and thinking. What I want to say is that here, insya Allah, our mind widen. Learn how to think out of the box. Really. If we were too proud of our "pintar" but sorry, it s not applied here. Hahaha... hope we feel proud. I mean too proud until we don't look behind and our feet.

Plus, as I mentioned earlier, it s INTERNATIONAL Islamic. Just want you to focus at the INTERNATIONAL because some people will have some kind of weird or uncomfortable feeling about Islam. Pfft... get a life please. So, here we were taught to study on how to communicate with internationalist. Hahaha.... okay it s Centre for Foundation Studies, at least we are preparing to do so. Besides, the most important thing is, we here are shaped, okay not shaped but are taught under comfortable peaceful Islamic environment. Maybe not 100 percent Islamic, but it s really great here. And, insya Allah, here we are also taught with beautiful Islamic ethics.

About courses, they are divided into two; science stream and art stream. Science stream is such as Allied Health Science, Physics and Chemistry. While art stream is such as languages course.

Oh, before we start our lectures or once we registered here, we are obligated to take EPT (English Placement Test) and APT (Arabic Placement Test). International. Hahaha... oh, the EPT is quite same as MUET level.

I think maybe that s all. I just dont have any more idea to write on. Hahaha... just it s my responsibility to share the experience I have. So, just want you to prepare yourself for the next stage. Ok. All the best in your life. Yohoho

There's a lot more to share - the foundatiin is really challenging as those who came here are really really good in their trials examination. Just contact me for more information. 0192145915.

So, these are just a few of them. To any alumni that are interested to share their stories/experiences or anything about their journey after SPM, feel free to click this link.
